La Liga side Celta Vigo have confirmed the signing of Kenyan wonderkid Aldrine Kibet on a free transfer.
Kibet has penned down a four-year deal with the La Liga giants and will initially join the reserves team as they develop his talent before promoting him to the first team. He rose to fame while representing St. Antony’s Boys in 2023 at the KSSSA games in Kakamega, which led to them lifting the title. He has since been featured in the U20 team of the Harambee Stars.
Harambee Stars head coach Ben McCarthy has congratulated him on the move. “He couldn’t have gone to a better team. The football club is excellent. For a young player, you have a good pathway because Celta Vigo produces a lot of good players who find themselves playing in the first team. I had no say or nothing to do with him signing at Celta Vigo,” he said.
Kenyans on social media have send their congratulations to the teenager.
