Lionel Messi- the eight Ballon d’Or winner has decided to give his eighth Ballon d’Or accolade to the club that nursed, molded, and fine-tuned his craft to become one of the greatest players ever to grace the game.
Despite winning his eighth Ballon d’Or with Inter Miami, Messi showed why Barcelona will forever remain engrained in his heart following his grand gesture.
The Ballon d’Or will be an exhibition in FC Barcelona’s museum, where the rest of his seven balls are.
The 36-year-old forward won the Ballon d’Or in October 2023, which became his eighth award since first winning it in 2009. He defeated Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe in a close contest, to win the coveted award.
