Liverpool thrashed Tottenham at Anfield to overturn their first-leg loss and qualify for the final of the Carabao Cup.

The Reds lost the first leg of the tie 1-0 at Tottenham Stadium a few weeks ago and were on the verge of crashing out of the competition.

However, they overturned the one-goal deficit and breezed past Spurs 4-0 on the night to set up a final clash with Newcastle.

Liverpool boss Arne Slot made four changes to the side that beat Bournemouth last time out in the league.

Ange Postecoglou made two changes to the side that beat Brentford at the weekend. New signing Kevin Danso  replaced Pedro Porro.

The Reds took control of the proceedings and created several chances. However, they had to wait until the 34th minute for Cody Gakpo to open the scoring.

Entering into the second half, Liverpool doubled their lead from the penalty spot after Dawin Nunez was brought down by the goalkeeper.

Mohamed Salah stood with the ball to take the penalty and slotted the ball into the roof of the net, beating the goalkeeper. Dominic Szoboszlai and Virgil Van Dijk extended it to 4-0.

The hosts held on to their lead until the final whistle, as they cruised to the final of the Carabao Cup.
