Barcelona midfielder Sergio Busquets is set to leave the club at the end of the season after more than 15 years.

After months of uncertainty over his future, the former Spain midfielder has reportedly made up his mind and is awaiting the official communication to inform the club.

Only Leo Messi and Xavi Hernandez have played in more games in the history of the club than Sergio Busquets, who spent 15 seasons with Barcelona’s first team. If Barça wins La Liga, he might add to his current total of 31 titles to make it 32. In addition, he would tie with Piqué for third place in terms of success for the team, behind Messi 35 and Iniesta 32.

Busquets will leave the club on a high note, with the club on the verge of its first La Liga title since 2019. There will, however, be no reunion if Messi returns to the club.

Busquet’s preferred destination is Saudi Arabia, although the final decision has yet to be made.
