Football Kenya Federation premier league club Sofapaka has announced that their coach Francis Haringingo and assistant coach Pablo Nduwimana have agreed to part ways on a mutual consent after recording poor results since the league started.

“We wish to inform our beloved fans that the Head Coach Francis Haringingo and Pablo Nduwimana have come into agreement with the club to part ways on Mutual Consent.

Coach Haringingo assumed his role as head coach of the team just two and a half months ago in which he has been in charge of 5 games that we’ve drawn one and lost 4 matches in a row.

The coach made the decision in the wake of a series of disappointing results in the club’s last five matches. Coach Ezekiel Akwana will lead the team on the interim.

He will be assisted by former club captain Hilary Echesa. In light of these challenges, Ezekiel Akwana will step in as the acting head coach and he will be assisted by immediate Team Manager Hillary Echesa and is expected to lead the team in their upcoming match against Muranga Seal FC until further notice that will be announced by the club.”

Burundian tactician Francis Harigingo has become the first coach to be sacked in the 2023/24 FKF Premier League season after a spate of poor results.

Sofapaka woes began two weeks ago when their Technical Director David Ouma, who was the coach before Harigingo’s coming resigned from his role, citing personal reasons.

After losing their Technical director, Sofapaka recorded four consecutive losses and one draw, Sofapaka are now at the bottom in the standings with just a single point from their opening day draw against Gor Mahia.

Sofapaka decided to part ways with their head coach on Saturday after suffering again a defeat in the hands of City Stars at the Kasarani Annex.
