Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou has called out his striker Timo Werner after his poor outing against Rangers.

Werner, who is currently on loan from RB Leipzig, has only scored one goal in 19 appearances, and yesterday was his eighth start. The former Chelsea striker was hooked up at halftime in their 1-1 draw with Rangers in the Europa League. Werner lost possession 16 times and completed just 69% of his passes in just 45 minutes.

Speaking after the game, Postecoglou was far from happy with that performance from Werner “Timo Werner wasn’t playing anywhere near the levels he can”. It’s not acceptable to me. I told him that. He’s a senior international”.We need everybody, including him, to be contributing because we don’t have the depth to leave people out if they perform poorly. I expect a level of performance from some of the senior guys, and tonight wasn’t that.”He said.

Spurs have just one win in their last eight matches in all competitions.
