Tottenham Hotspurs defeated Arsenal 1-0 in the North London derby played in Hong Kong.

As part of the preseason, both teams locked in for the first London derby played outside the UK for the very first time. Odegaard had an effort deflected just wide minutes into the game. Pape Matar Sarr scored the only goal of the game for Spurs with a long-range effort that beat David Raya. Summer signing for Arsenal, Victor Gyokeres made his debut in the 72nd minute of the game but could not make a difference.

Speaking after the game, Arsenal midfielder Mikel Merino insisted they were proud of the support.”It wasn’t the result we wanted. Winning is always a priority, but in the preseason, fitness and fan connection matter just as much. The result’s the worst part, but this feeling will fuel us. We must grow, learn, and push forward. The support was amazing. We know it’s hard for fans here to follow our games due to time zones. So, thank you for being with us,us.” He he said.
