Tottenham Hotspur winger Heung Min Son has been named the club’s new captain, effective today.

In a club statement issued today, Son has displayed leadership skills and is ready to take up the mantle as captain this season after Harry Kane left the club to join German based Bayern Munich.

The 31- year old South Korean player stated that he is elated, though he was scared at the start to take on the huge task.

“It’s such a big honour to captain this huge club. It was a big surprise and a very proud moment. I’ve already said to the players that everyone should feel like a captain, on and off the pitch”. Said Son
