The FKF-PL 2022/23 season is living up to its bill with the title race seemingly going down to the wire, only a point separates Tusker and Gor Mahia. In the league’s round of 26 fixtures scheduled this weekend, two clashes will highlight the fixtures.

The two giants of the FKF-PL- Tusker FC and Gor Mahia, will be hoping that one of them drops points to get a cushion in the heated title race.

Gor Mahia dropped second on the log after yet another underwhelming performance in a two-all-draw against Posta Rangers. They were leading by two goals but bottled the lead to dent their 20th title hopes.

Today at Kasarani Stadium, they will be hoping to make things right against a confidence-brimming Police FC who thumped Vihiga Bullets 4-0 during the week.

This is a must-win for the Green army and the Irishman McKinstry is already feeling the pressure.

“There’s pressure and there’s no doubt about that, there’s been pressure since preseason, but this is why you get involved in professional sports. Professional sports wouldn’t be enjoyable or fulfilling without competitiveness,” the Irishman said.

On the other hand, Tusker will be on road to battle it out with the fourth-placed Nzoia Sugar at the unwelcoming Sudi Stadium.

Tusker FC is having an emphatic clean run having won seven games in a row. Being only one point ahead of Gor Mahia, the Brewers will have to make history by becoming the first FKF-PL side to win at Sudi Stadium since Wazito on 15th May 2022.

However, Salim Babu’s side will not be frightened by Tusker Fc and will brace to continue with their five games unbeaten streak.

Robert Matano will be wary of the Bungoma-based side.

“Nzoia is a very strong team so we have to be ready and be at our best, we understand the task ahead of us and we have to be prepared for anything. But we are Tusker also and we are the defending champions so we will see how to control the tempo in that game,” he said
