Arsenal defeated Tottenham Hotspurs 4-1 in the North London derby played at the Emirates Stadium.
Mikel Arteta’s side went into the game looking to extend the lead at the top of the table. Declan Rice had the first chance of the game for Arsenal, but his volley was saved by Vicario.Christian Romero had to make a timely block to deny Mikel Merino, who had his chance on goal. Leandro Trossard then opened the scoring after being found out by Merino. Just minutes later Eze added the second goal after his shot deflected past Vicario.
In the second half, Eze added his second goal of the game after being found out by Timber. Spurs looked to try and gain momentum, and Joao Paulinha dispossessed Zubimendi, and Richarlison took advantage and beat David Raya off his line. Eze then finished off any hopes of a comeback as he collected off Leandro Trossard’s pass and completed his hat-trick.
Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta heaped praise on Eze after full time. “Yeah, and it doesn’t have to be perfect. He can be right, left, ball on the ground, bouncing, or ball at this height, and he takes it. He has such a quality and capacity to finish actions in different ways.” He said.
