Arsenal yesterday submitted a record-breaking bid worth £105 million to West Ham for Declan Rice.
The proposal consists of a £100 million upfront payment plus £5 million in performance-based bonuses. This summer, Rice has been the main target for Arsenal, and the player prefers to join the Gunners, according to reports. Manchester City had offered £80 million plus an additional £10 million, but the offer fell short of West Ham’s asking price.
Rice’s contract at the London Stadium expires in just one year, and West Ham reportedly values their star player between £100m and £120m. Rice, who started his youth career at Chelsea and has spent his whole professional career with West Ham, has contributed 15 goals and 13 assists in 254 games across all competitions.
The Englishman, who is regarded as one of the top midfielders in the Premier League, finished the 2022–23 season on a historic high by successfully guiding West Ham to a Europa League victory, the team’s first major trophy in 58 years.
