Despite still awaiting his first goal for Manchester United, he has impressed with 12 goals in just 10 appearances for the Under-18s.
Meanwhile, Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim explained his decision to start Obi-Martin.
He said, “We need to focus a lot on our young players. He played really well in the minutes against Wolverhampton. I feel he is ready to cope with the demands of the Premier League.”
Obi-Martin’s start was part of a youthful lineup, with Manchester United fielding a team with an average age of just 22 years and 270 days.
