Christian Eriksen returned to full training in a major boost for Erik Ten Hag’s side this week.

Due to an ankle injury sustained as a result of a vicious challenge from Andy Carroll during the FA Cup victory against Reading, the midfielder has been sidelined since January. Eriksen’s injury was initially predicted to keep him out until the end of April or the beginning of May, but this week, the former Tottenham star returned to the practice field with his teammates. Even though United acquired Marcel Sabitzer on loan from Bayern Munich in January, Eriksen’s skill in the middle of the field has been missed.

Erik ten Hag hopes to be well enough to make the matchday squad when United hosts Everton at Old Trafford on Saturday. ”We will see. We see it from day to day. He is progressing. He is now back only this week, in team training tomorrow [Thursday] and the day after tomorrow. We have two sessions. After that, we will decide if he is back in the squad again,” Erik Ten Hag said.
