Frank Lampard insists Mason Mount is a huge player for Chelsea amid his future uncertainty.
Speaking after being appointed as a caretaker manager, Lampard said, “Mason has always been a fantastic player for me at Derby and Chelsea,” said Lampard in his first press conference. “I know he’s had a few slight injury problems. I need to speak to him and find out where he is, but I know what I get from Mason. He’s a huge player for Chelsea.” Said Lampard.
With his contract set to expire next summer, the England international has had a challenging season amidst injuries, a lack of form, and rumors about his future at Stamford Bridge. The 24-year-old hasn’t played in either of Chelsea’s last two matches as he has been an unused substitute. With the appointment of Frank Lampard as caretaker manager since the end of the season,Mason Mount could be set to return to the first team, as Mount enjoyed a fantastic spell under Lampard in the 2019 season.
