Erling Haaland celebrates after scoring for Manchester city

Manchester City thrashed RB Leipzig 7-0 in the Champions League on Tuesday evening to advance to the quarterfinals.

After a 1-1 draw away in Germany, all was to be decided at the Etihad Stadium. Erling Haaland stole the show with a brilliant performance marked by five goals scoring that evening. Haaland opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the 22nd minute before adding the second just 2 minutes later. Erling Haaland then completed his hat trick in the extra time of the first half with a composed finish.

In the second half, Manchester City remained impressive as goals from Ilkay Gundogan, Erling Haaland twice, and a Kevin Debruyne strike ensured Pep Guardiola’s men booked a slot in the quarter finals.In the game, Erling Haaland joined Lionel Messi as the only player in the history of the Champions League to score five goals in a single game in the knockout stage.
