The two leading offers for Manchester United have been made by Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s Ineos Group and Qatari banker Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani.

Sheikh Jassimbid is worth about £5 billion and includes a sum that would be paid to the sellers directly. The Qatari bid includes a plan to personally invest a sizeable amount of new finance and infrastructure into the club, in addition to a figure to purchase the club.

The INEOS group led by Sir Jim Ratcliffe also submitted their bid on time. The British billionaire seeks to acquire more than 50% of the organization, but his proposal contains a clause that would let Joel and Avram Glazer, two of the company’s founders, keep their 20% interest. This may, however, not be considered as many United fans want the Glazers family to sell the whole organization as they are not happy with how they have been treating the club in the last few years.
