Chelsea reached an agreement in principle yesterday with Frank Lampard to be the interim coach until the end of the season.

The Athletic says that Lampard’s return has now been agreed upon in principle, and The Guardian claims that he may be present for Saturday’s Premier League match at Molineux against Wolves.

Up to five applicants will be interviewed by Chelsea for the full-time position, with Luis Enrique and Julian Nagelsmann currently holding the top spots. From July 2019 to January 2021, Lampard served as head coach before being fired and being succeeded by Thomas Tuchel, the winner of the Champions League.
