Shabana FC head coach Sam Okoth has downplayed the pundit’s predictions of clinching the NSL title which will guarantee them FKF-PL promotional status.

Shabana FC has led the NSL table having collected 38 points which is nine ahead of the second-placed side Muranga Seal FC.

“We are on the right path, and of course, the goal is to get promoted to the FKF Premier League come to the end of the season, but we are alive to the fact that it is too early. We just played our first second-leg match, and it is too early to chest thump over promotion chances,” Okoth claimed.

Shabana FC has not graced FKF-PL since 2006 and will be bracing to work their socks off to clinch the elusive top-flight status.

“I have a tightly knit group. We are very honest with one another, and the unity that we have ensures that we are pulling in the same direction. I think that is our biggest strength, and my prayer is that nothing will come between now and the end of the season. The goal we have is achievable if we continue doing the things that we have been doing and keep improving on the areas that we are not doing too well,” he added.
