Arsenal reached the semifinals of the EFL Carabao Cup after beating Crystal Palace 3-2 at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday evening.

Crystal Palace took the lead when Mateta scored after Jacob Kiwior failed to win his header, and the Frenchman outpaced him to open the scoring past rushing David Raya. Raheem Sterling failed to convert his chance as Arsenal was down at halftime.

In the second half, Gabriel Jesus levelled things for the home side when Odegaard played him through. Jesus then scored again to complete the comeback with a low, powerful effort into the bottom corner. Jesus then completed his hat trick when Arsenal broke on the counter to add the third of the night for the home side. With five minutes remaining, former Gunners striker Eddie Nketiah pulled one back for Palace, but it proved to be just a consolation.

Speaking after the game, Mikel Arteta was pleased with the performance of Jesus: “I’m so pleased for him. It’s been a long period for him without goals; now he looked very sharp. I think it’s a great thing for him and the team that we can rely on a player of such quality”.He said.
