On Thursday evening, Harambee Stars defender Joseph Okumu featured for KAA Gent in the 1-1 draw against Premier League side West Ham United.
As part of Gent’s back three which has been their starting lineup for the majority of the season, Joseph Okumu had a solid game blocking attacks from the dangerous Hammers attack line.
Just before halftime, Danny Ings’ touch on Jarrod Bowen’s cross into an open goal gave the West Ham team the lead.
Gent’s Hugo Cuypers restored parity shortly before the hour mark, but Nigerian prodigy Gift Orban’s overhead kick for the fourth-place team in Belgium’s premier division missed the bar.
