Harry Maguire scored the winner as Manchester United defeated Copenhagen 1-0 in the Champions League.

In a first half of limited chances, both sides produced very little to trouble the goalkeeper. Marcus Rashford’s effort curled wide off the post on United’s best chance of the first half.

In the second half, Ten Hag brought Christian Eriksen, who set up the cross on which Harry Maguire scored the winning goal. Scott McTominay conceded a late penalty in the final moments of the game. Andre Onana came huge for United as he pushed Jordan Larsson’s effort away from the post and ensured United got the win.

Speaking after the win United boss Erik Ten Hag said that they improved their second-half performance. “The first half was not so good—a difficult game. They were well organised, and it was difficult to create chances; we didn’t get the right build-up, so we didn’t get the right tempo.” The second half was better. First half pressing did not happen on many occasions, so second half both things were better and the build-up was better.” He said.
