Filip Hrgovic is edging closer to his shot at the heavyweight crown after over a year of waiting. Despite being the mandatory challenger for the IBF title, the Croatian Olympic Bronze medalist has yet to secure a match or interim belt.

However, Hrgovic is set for a second consecutive stay-busy fight against Mark De Mori on December 23 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, with the promise of challenging the main crown if victorious.

Hrgovic confidently stated, “I’m next in line for the heavyweight championship of the world,” and expressed readiness to face the winner of Usyk vs. Fury or, if a rematch occurs, the next top-ranked fighter in the IBF.

The upcoming Hrgovic-De Mori clash is part of a star-studded eight-fight card in Riyadh, featuring Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder in separate co-main events, setting the stage for a potential showdown with the heavyweight champion in February.
