Manchester City moved to the top of the Premier League standings with seven games to go after beating Fulham 2-1 on Sunday.

Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne missed the game due to injury and was replaced by Julian Alvarez. The Argentina striker put in a superb display in the first half as he won Manchester City a penalty within the first two minutes of the game.

Erling Haaland scored his 34th Premier League goal of the season from the spot, which is tied for the most in a single season. Fulham, however, through Carlos Vinicius, tied the score after 15 minutes with a skillful finish past Ederson.

Julian Alvarez then scored a stunner after a superb display, sending a thunderous goal from outside the box to give City a halftime lead.

In the second half, Fulham goalkeeper Bernard Leno produced stunning saves to deny Haaland and Alvarez. Fulham will be furious for not being given a pebaltu after Dias brought down Daniel James.
