Kakamega Homeboyz has also dropped five players.

Kakamega Homeboyz has beefed up their squad with five players already just four days after the mid-season transfer window was officially opened.

There is no hiding away from the fact that Homeboyz has not had a smooth 2022-23 FKF-PL campaign compared to the previous one where they finished second behind Tusker just on the basis of goal difference. They sit at eighth position, 12 points behind the league leaders. This has propagated the club’s management to stamp their authority in the current transfer window.

The five players include; Kevin AmwayiDennis SikhayiEnock MasinzaMohammed Adnan, and Ssetuba.

Ssetuba- the Ugandan goalkeeper, who has been brought in to replace the long-serving Geoffrey Oputi, says he is eager to hit the ground running. He once played for Sony Sugar.

‘’I am not new to the Kenyan Premier League and I’m very aware of the intensity of competition here. No team is small and everyone gives you a challenge. I remember vividly from days at Sony Sugar,’’ says the 26-year-old.

Ssetuba’s immediate former club Ihefu sits 8th on the Tanzanian Premier League log with 9 wins from 24 matches. He leaves them after half a season with the Mbeya City outfit.
