With a convincing 2-1 victory over West Ham at the London Stadium, the Reds maintained their recent good performances in the Premier League.

Lucas Paqueta had handed the relegation-threatened Hammers an early lead, so they had to battle back to win it. Liverpool, however, responded almost immediately through Cody Gakpo, who scored from 25 yards out.

Liverpool took the lead in the second half through Joel Matip, who was back in the lineup to ensure Jurgen Klopp’s side took home the three points.

Speaking after the game, Jurgen Klopp was happy with the win. “We played really well, controlled the game – then bang 1-0 down. But we kept playing, scored an incredible goal, kept playing, kept moving them then scored in the second half.”We needed a set piece but I’m more than happy with that.” He said.

With the victory, Klopp’s team moves up to sixth place and is now only six points behind fourth-placed Manchester United, who will play Tottenham on Thursday night.
