With Trent Alexander-Arnold leaving the club at the end of his current contract, the Reds needed to bring in a new right-back in the summer transfer window.
Conor Bradley is another option for Liverpool at right-back, but he’s still a young defender learning his trade.

A medical is being scheduled, and interestingly, Frimpong was an unused substitute for Leverkusen on Sunday, with Xabi Alonso not giving him a minute in their final game for the club.
Sources have confirmed that Liverpool feel that Frimpong’s ability to play further forward is a bonus.
Although Frimpong is a right-back, he plays incredibly high for Alonso, almost as an additional right winger.
The Dutch international is a completely different profile to Alexander-Arnold, so it will be interesting to see he’s utilised by Slot.
Alexander-Arnold often tucks in to a central area and likes to play long-range passes from deep, while Frimpong wants to get high and wide at every opportunity, venturing into the opposition final third.
