Manchester United are set to sign Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana on a five-year deal.
After David de Gea left the team after 12 years due to contract expiration, United decided to recruit a new number 1 goalkeeper. Onana quickly rose to the top of the list of targets for the club, and they agreed on personal terms before starting negotiations to join the club.
According to Fabrizio Romano, a trusted Italian journalist in the transfer business, Manchester United will pay a fee of €55 million, including add-ons, to Inter Milan for the Cameroon international goalkeeper.
Andre Onana was influential in Inter Milan’s journey to the Champions League final last season. Many clubs were interested in him, but he decided to join his former manager Erik Ten Hag, with whom they worked together at Ajax.
Manchester United are currently undergoing changes at the club under Ten Hag, as they saw the exit of Ronaldo and Harry Maguire being stripped of captaincy yesterday.
