Doping has become a major issue in athletic in the world and it has affected most of the athletes proffetionaly.
The Nandi county sports officials including the Nandi county sports director Mr Daniel Ruto, held a meeting with all athletes from Nandi county at Eliud kipchoge sports center in Nandi county with the aim of sensitizing all athletes on the effects of doping.
The meeting took over 6 hours covering alot of doping topics like the effects of doping, consequences,test methods,anti doping agencies and doping substance and many more topics.
Nandi county sports director Daniel Ruto urged all athletes to abstain from doping and also call upon all stakeholders to come back to sensitize athletes against doping.
“I wish to call upon all athletes to abstain from doping and I also call upon the ministry of education to even introduce it as part of education syllables as well as the adak to reintroduce sensitization programs of athletes atleast twice a year” Daniel said.
The athletes were happy about the event since they were in a position to learn so much about doping and also were able to the importance of being sensitized on the same.
” We didn’t knew the effects and consequences of doping,now we know and we are very happy,the government should keep sensitizing all athletes in Kenya” Mildred one of the athletes said.
