In the NBA Playoffs, the Philadelphia 76ers defeated the Brooklyn Nets 96-88 to win the series 4-0 and advance to the second round of the playoffs in the eastern conference.

The 76ers, who were without star center Joel Embiid, put on a strong second-half performance to advance to the Eastern Conference semifinals, where they will play either Boston or Atlanta. A finalist for the Most Valuable Player award, Embiid, sprained his right knee during game three on Thursday and was ruled out of game 4.

Tobia Harris, who had 25 points and 12 rebounds to lead Philadelphia in scoring, said they played well in the game. “It feels amazing for the whole team to come out here and win this victory.” It’s a fantastic victory for us and a fantastic series sweep. “The whole group came together today,” said Harris.

Early in the third quarter, the Sixers were down by 11 points but went on to win the series.

The Brooklyn Nets have now been swept for the second consecutive year, and they will be happy that the season is over amid all the challenges that the team has faced throughout the season and especially after trading out their superstars Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving in January.
