Tottenham Hotspurs returned to the top of the Premier League table after a 2-0 win over Fulham on Monday night.
Spurs captain Son Heung-min opened the scoring with a wonderful curling effort into the corner nine minutes before halftime.
In the second half, Fulham were once again sloppy in defence, which allowed Son to set up James Maddison, who scored the second goal of the game. Fulham’s best chance fell to Paulinha, who saw his header saved, while also Jimenez’s curling effort was blown away by Vicario.
Speaking after the win, Spurs manager Ange Postecoglou said they should remain focused.”We want the fans to dream, but we will stay focused day by day. The fans can get carried away; we want that. It is what it is about for them, but it is about us not doing that. If you think of long-term goals, you can get carried away.” He said.
