The 35-capped Mathare United defender David ‘Cheche’ Ochieng has expressed his appreciation to the Harambee Stars head coach Engin Firat for including him in the 30-man provisional squad. The squad is set to face off Iran on March 28th at Tehran, Iran for an international friendly match.

Ochieng has been very important to Mathare United since his coming during the ongoing February-March transfer window. He has sprear-headed Mathare United to win two crucial matches against AFC Leopards and Gor Mahia.

He credits his call up due to his hard work and dedication as a football player.

“I have worked immensely hard and even more when I was unattached and this call-up is the end result of all that hard work,” he was quoted by Mathare United social media handle.
