Premier League reigning champions Manchester City travel to St James’ Park to take on Newcastle United on Saturday evening as they seek to close the gap between them and Liverpool.
Manchester City and Newcastle United are separated by eleven points in the table standings, with the Cityzens occupying third place and the Magpies sitting six positions in ninth.
The Magpies’ record against the Citizens in the Premier League leaves little to be desired, as they have only won one, drawn five and lost 26 of their last 32 top-flight encounters; their only triumph during this run being a 2-1 home win in January 2019.
Newcastle will miss the services of Joelinton, Callum Wilson, Matt Targett, Nick Pope, Jacob Murphy, Joe Willock, Harvey Barnes, Elliot Anderson and Javi Manquillo.
Manchester City will be without Erling Haaland and John Stones, while Jack Grealish and Manuel Akanji are minor doubts due to illness.
The Cityzens appear to have rediscovered their form at the right time and have key players returning from injury. Taking that into account as well as their exceptional record against the Magpies, the champions are expected to find a way to claim maximum points on Saturday.
