Norwegian players are having to make major adjustments as they prepare for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the USA, Canada, and Mexico. Coming from a country with a much cooler climate, adapting to the intense summer heat and humidity has become a key part of their preparations.

With temperatures in several host cities expected to exceed 30°C, Norway’s players have been training to improve their heat tolerance through specialized conditioning, hydration plans, and recovery routines. Experts have warned that extreme heat could affect player performance and health during the tournament.

Norway international Morten Thorsby has even backed calls for stronger heat-protection measures at the World Cup, highlighting concerns about player welfare in some of the tournament’s hottest venues.

For stars such as Erling Haaland and their teammates, adapting to the weather could be just as important as tactics and fitness as Norway prepares for its first World Cup appearance since 1998.
