Following his anti-climax performance at the Tokyo Marathon where he finished tenth, Kipchoge vows to make a retribution in the Olympics.

Kipchoge has made it clear from his subsequent interviews that the Tokyo Marathon slip-up was just a bad day in office. However, many Kenyans threw banters at him terming him as ‘finished’. The slagging off was unfathomable from people who you expect should back him and be his linchpin.

“I did not succeed as far as the Tokyo marathon is concerned. I feel disappointed to train for four, or five months without getting the real results but it is not the end of life.” He pointed out.

The two-time World Record holder is in pole position to cut the Kenya Olympics Marathon team. He believes he has what it takes to etch his name in the Marathon’s illustrious archives as the first athlete to win a three-peat in the Olympics.

“Back-to-back-to-back. This is in my mind. I will try my best to push myself to win it three times and tell the next generation that longevity is the key and you can make a goal, pursue it, and make it happen.” He added.
